A quote from one of my favorite all time movies,
A Christmas Story. While I have no real ambition right now to find stats on how many people may have actually been killed by falling icicles, I believe it could be true. I know they hurt, because one did hit a kid in our neighborhood the other night.

So sometime this weekend, we are going to have to start knocking these babies down from our gutters, before the actually pull the gutters off of our house. They are super cool though, and I love the patterns they create as they form and refreeze each night. I think this one looks like ribbon candy in the sunlight.

I'm seriously hoping all of this snow melt does not flood our basement. This is my side garden path. The fence is 3 feet tall. Yes, it's that deep all the way across.

I am also hopeful that our kids can return to school soon. Schools are closed here for the rest of the week, and they were off for President's Day Monday. Guess what? There is another storm brewing in Texas right now, which could bring us another potential snowfall of 4+ inches. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even notice 4 more inches of snow at this point!
Florida, anyone?
My basement is going to flood. No two ways about it. Unless I start trucking this snow out!
ReplyDeleteThe icicles are impressive! We got about 2 inches of snow today...your 3 feet looks scary, ha!
ReplyDeleteWow! Lots of snow! My kids love to suck on the icicles. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWe have about 5 inches left here, and I'm in misery. It's a good thing I'm not your neighbor, you would probably hear the scream that 3 ft of snow would induce. The icicles are beautiful though!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such impressive icicles. The pictures look great :)
