I totally stole this map from my friend's Facebook page...it says it all! This is our backyard this morning at 7:30 am. We have about 23 inches so far, and it continues to snow quite heavily. I will venture out to get an official measurement in a little while. We also had quite a phenomena early this morning, snow lightening and thunder at about 4:45 am for about a 1/2 hour! There is a lot of wind and drifting snow.
We are getting ready to make Valentine's cookies and cake balls. They are also going to work on their Valentine's cards for their classmates. The snow is so deep, it is still snowing hard, so the kids really can't play in it right now. We are going to give them each a shovel and put them to work soon!

I'm really glad that if the snow had to happen, it happened at a time when Mark is home...for your sake.
ReplyDeleteAre you glad it's "only" 23 inches, or would 50 have been cool? Not being facetious, but sometimes if you're going big...there's a mindset to just go BIG, kwim?
crazy! just crazy! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWow, Deb! That's a lot of snow! Poor Hannah!
ReplyDeleteHoly.Crap. I have been complaining all day about the 5 inches we got here! Yours is much worse. I don't envy your 23 inches at.all!
ReplyDeleteThat map is hilarious! Hope it's stopped snowing!!! How is Hannah? Can she see well, now?
ReplyDeleteI love that map! I can't - even with the pictures - really picture that much snow. We got 6" with our last snow, and it shut down pretty much the entire state for days. You're talking actual FEET of snow. That just doesn't compute. You stay safe! And watch out for the Abominable Snowman - with that much of the white stuff, he's probably out there somewhere!
