Two years ago, Lauren decided she wanted to grow her hair long. We talked about the possibility of her being able to donate it to a program that makes wigs for cancer patients. She was intrigued and willing to help!
Well, after a year of knots and pulling and basically wearing it in a ponytail, June arrived and so did the hot temperatures. Lauren decided now was the time to cut it, just in time for the beach and summer vacation. I went to several of the websites and most of them wanted a minimum of 10 inches of hair. I measure Lauren's ponytail and we were just short, at 9 inches!

She got her hair shampooed so it was nice and clean. Kellye put her ponytails in and measure each a couple of times to make sure they were even, and then.....the big cut!
The ultimate surprise? When I went to the front to pay for the hair cut, she told me they do donation hair cuts for FREE!
So, here is my beautiful girl, free of her 9 inches of extra hair. Someone out there is going to be the lucky recipient of hair full of beautiful blonde hair with very light blonde and red highlights. The envelope will go in the mail today!

That's a great thing she did!
ReplyDeleteShe looks cute with shorter hair too :)
BTW, I love that she wears the jersey of the Dutch soccer team ;) - the Netherlands won their first game today, 2-0 against Denmark - must be because Lauren brought them luck ;))
Way to go Lauren!!!
